This is a Space Age take on the starburst or sunburst clocks, which were so popular in the 1960s and 1970s.

The stylised case is made up of four moulded melamine quadrants with gold highlights.

The clock is powered by an electronic 'tuning fork' movement, which hums slightly and results in very smooth movement of the second hand.
