SMITHS quartz wall clock
1970s

This is a late Smiths model but it still retains the classic form of the 6 inch dial clocks developed in the 1950s, including the metal bezel.

The case is moulded from a hard, shiny plastic - possibly ABS as we have seen examples that have discoloured over time.

The clock is driven by the original quartz movement, requiring a single AA battery, and featuring a useful second-hand reset button (for synchronising to a time signal).
