The design of this clock dates to the mid-1940s. It was once a familiar sight in schools, hospitals, factories, stations and offices across the UK and Commonwealth.
This example, dated June 1956, is in excellent overall condition. The painted steel dial has a few slight marks yet shows none of the foxing or rusting commonly found on clocks of this type and age. The black crackle finish to the movement housing is similarly well preserved. The clock even retains its original hanging instructions to the rear of the dial.
The clock is powered by the well proven Smiths 8 day 2 inch movement with platform escapement and will run for over a week on a full wind.
The clock has been disassembled, cleaned, serviced and the case polished. It is supplied in excellent condition and full working order with instructions on setting up and regulating plus guidance on aftercare.
