Black horn rim sunglasses, Scotland, 1960s

These glasses are of excellent quality, but there is nothing to identify them other than a Made in Scotland mark. There could be a link to Polaroid, which opened its factory in Scotland in the early 1960s.

They feature very robust black acetate frames with their original green glass lenses, deep temples with paddle ear pads and strong seven barrel hinges. There is a very nice diamond detail to the corners.

The glasses have been thoroughly cleaned and polished and are in very good condition with unblemished lenses. There are a few usage marks to the frames, but these are more than compensated for by the overall quality.
