Oak cased perpetual wall calendar, 10 inch diameter, 1930s

This is a fine example of the classic wall-hanging perpetual calendar. It is framed in solid oak with oak plywood panels and finished in a rich chestnut-brown varnish typical of the period. The date roll is linen, protected by a glass window, and the fittings are brass.

The calendar is in full working order. It has been disassembled, cleaned and polished but otherwise left completely original. The date rolls are fully intact with some fading but no damage. There are minor scratches to the case with some loss of varnish (all visible in the photos), but these would not justify refinishing. The overall condition is very good and it displays well.

Diameter 10 inches (255mm); depth 70mm. Weight 0.8kg
