This is the defining bakelite cased mantel clock from Smiths Enfield. The Art Deco influenced design is simple and elegant with no unnecessary embellishment. This is an early example,  bearing the Enfield name and blued spade hands.

The clock is spring driven, regulated by a pendulum and runs for 8 days on a full wind. The striking train can be left unwound, if the strike is not required.
