While still based on valve technology, by the 1950s radios were becoming portable and starting to look 'modern'.

EKCO had always been pioneers of radio design, and with the U215 they were already moving away from traditional design and using new thermo-plastics (this looks like bakelite, but isn't !)

This is a very good example of a classic radio (working when we acquired it but now retired for safety).
